Beekeeping Training Held – January 31, 2025
Committed to empowering local communities through sustainable practices, the Somali Beekeepers Association successfully conducted a beekeeping training session on January 31, 2025, in Bosaso, Puntland.
The training brought together over 30 new and experienced beekeepers from surrounding villages. Participants learned essential skills in modern and traditional beekeeping, including:
- Bee colony management
- Hive inspection techniques
- Sustainable honey harvesting
- Bee health and disease control
The training was led by expert beekeepers and supported by local stakeholders, aiming to strengthen food security and create income opportunities in rural areas.
“We believe that investing in beekeeping is investing in the environment and economic resilience,” said the Association’s coordinator.
All participants received practical demonstrations and starter kits to help them begin or improve their own apiaries.
We thank all our partners and community members for making this training a success.
More training programs will be announced soon — stay connected and support local beekeepers!
